European Researcher for the Built Environment (Delft)
As applied researcher you will develop innovative solutions in European collaborative projects, and bring innovation to practice through implementation of research results in demonstration and consultancy projects. The main research topic at DEMO is information management in the built environment. Our field of operation is strategic and operational asset management of buildings and infrastructure, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainable cultural heritage. Our solutions often consist of a combination of BIM, GIS and data modelling.
Right from the start you will actively participate in European and national research projects within the EU Horizon 2020, FP7, and NL TKI programmes, both in project execution as well as in research proposal writing. Next to research activities, you will contribute to consultancy projects on software development and implementation, or building condition assessment and technical analysis, depending on your relevant educational and professional background.
- Early-stage or middle-stage researcher with a master or doctoral degree in building technology or building informatics.
- Some experience in applied research projects in addition to graduation assignment.
- Ability to write research reports, give presentations and perform technical discussions in both English and Dutch.
- Proven ambition for fast-track research and consultancy; interest of working in a multinational and multidisciplinary team and a dynamic project environment.
- Awareness of business opportunities resulted from research.
DEMO Consultants is specialised in Real Estate Information Management. We have developed our own software solutions packed in the DEMO RE Suite. DEMO’s core business comprises software development and implementation, strategic and technical consultancy, and applied research. DEMO professionals are experienced building engineers, asset management specialists, software developers and researchers.
Since its establishment, DEMO has actively participated in EU-funded research projects (from EU FP4 to Horizon 2020), Dutch research and innovation (such as Topsectoren-TKI at present and IFD-Bouwen in the past), and international training courses. DEMO has a proven track-record in initiating, coordinating and executing large-scale research projects.
DEMO works for public and private organisations in the Netherlands and abroad. It collaborates closely with numerous universities and renowned institutes (TNO and Delft University in the Netherlands, Fraunhofer in Germany, CARTIF in Spain, and CSTB in France) as well as with software, engineering and construction companies.
DEMO is located at Delftechpark in Delft between other high-tech offices and in the vicinity of the Delft University of Technology and TNO campus.
